The Easter Egg Hunt

Here are some delightful felted wool eggs that I made for gifts for Easter. They were designed by Kathryn Trippett of Billycart Bears and I got the pattern and inspiration from "Australian Homespun" magazine no. 46 Vol. 8 No.3.

The eggs are appliqued with Bunnie motifs, this whimsical project is sure to delight young and old at Easter time. I made 5 little Easter cards to go with the gifts.

Here are some pics of my eggs.....

Gone Fishing.

This is my creation for the March Scraplift at Uproar 2 Scrapmore set by Kylie.

Ok...something a little different.....

Here is a card that Sarah has made:

From this i would like to see a 12x12 LO scraplifted from the card but also a masculan LO too....... Grin

See my creation below.

The pic is my brother, "Craig" in his little "tinney" out fishing on the "Mitta Mitta", (many many years ago). It was the only fishing photo I could find. I have used a whole lot of bits and pieces for this layout and used a silhouette of a man fishing to enhance it a bit.

and a few close ups!

Blog of the Month - March

This months "Blog of the Month for March," is a lady I met online whilst on Erika Martin's "Soulology - online scrapbooking course" and also more recently "Journaling 101"

Without further addo............................

Krys Salvetta

Her Blog: Krys' World (it's not much, but it's all I've got!!!)

Now, this lady is amazing, her views are sometimes controversial and even outlandish, but what I love about her is they all come from her heart. Krys is not afraid to voice her opinion and I love that openness of her.

She is a very well read lady (and by well read, I mean this lady reads like a machine! Sometimes she has two or three books on the go at once). Some of the things she has described on her blog have given me a chuckle. Her description of driving a stick shift (manual clutch) for the first time. I love her ramblings about old neighbours and days gone by in general and even the little things about school, work and even her lake house.

During her Soulology course she produced some really outstanding pages, there were many pages worthy of a scrap lift......

Her blog goes right back to 2006, so if you have the time it's really worth the journey. She has also one a few awards for her blog (which are well deserved!)

Sometimes I wish Krys and Jack were our neighbours and close friends cause I know we would all get along famously.

Thanks Krys for sharing yourself on "Krys' World", I for one enjoyed the journey.

Cheers

Hug a Tree! - Embrace Your Inner Greenie.

This is my take on "Stars Extra fun challenge at the March Cybercrop - Go Green With Us" at Uproar 2 Scrapmore.

**************************************

Okay ladies, a lot of us have been having fun making ATC's for the current swap, so in light of this I have decided to throw out an extra challenge for the weekend that is a little different to the normal challenges.

For this challenge you will need to make an ATC. If you are unsure what an ATC is read here:http://uproar2scrapmore.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=2764.0

Your ATC must in some way reflect the GO GREEN/RECYCLE theme and must have on it;
- A recycled item
- The colour green somewhere

Your ATC must be a one off creation (not a series like other ATC's that we swap).

ATC's must be loaded to the gallery by midnight on Monday.

The winner (decided by poll) will receive 10 points to their monthly total (participants receive 5 points) and will also win all of the ATC's that were made. So by joining this challenge you are comitting to posting your ATC to the winner of the competition.

This challenge is a great way for those who are unsure about giving ATC's a go .... one is far easier to make than a whole series of cards ........ and you never know you just may catch the bug too! Grin

(This challenge is open to everyone including the Design Team as the winner is decided by poll so anyone can win!)

****************************************

This is my entry:

This is my first ever ATC. I didn't realise that they were as small as "swap cards". I have used the color green and the scrap is a heart that I cut from corrugated cardboard.

I would love to do more ATC's in the future.

A Moment of Mim!

This is my take for the color combo's challenge "Inspired by Nature" at Uproar 2 Scrapmore.

....... Uproar's own blog challenge ..... exclusive to the Uproar blog,

Colour Combos: Inspired by Nature

Each month we will post an image of something from the wonderful mother nature to inspire the colours for your own creative project. Your entry can be anything papercraft related eg: scrapbook layout, card, OTP, ATC, etc. as long as it is in the colour combo provided. Entries must be made exclusively for the Uproar blog and may not be entered into any other online competitions. You must also be a follower of the Uproar blog to be eligible to enter.

To enter your project simply post it on your own personal blog (or alternatively you can upload the image to photobucket if you do not have a personal blog) then leave a comment on the Uproar blog with a link to where we can find your entry. We will then transfer your entry to the blog challenge gallery.

Entries will close on the last day of each month (challenges will go up on the 1st of each month in future) so this will give you about 4 weeks to complete the challenges. There are some great prizes up for grabs;

Winner - $20 voucher to spend at Uproar

1st runner up - $10 prize pack (posted with next order)

2nd runner up - RAK

Here is this months colour combo:

Simply stunning ..... I just love the creamy yellow against the pink. I can see some gorgeous work coming from this combo and with such great prizes on offer, how can you resist??

Keep Australia Beautiful

ok, this is my layout for Amanda's challenge at Uproar 2 Scrapmore during the cybercrop theme called "Going Green with Us".

Okay ...... Amanda's challenge is this:

******************************************************

You need to make a 12 x 12 layout and it must have JUNK MAIL somewhere on the layout. Be it as an embellishment or lettering cut out to form a title or journalling. As long as it was delivered for free to your mailbox ...... anything goes!

Come on scrappers and let your creativity shine!

This is what I came up with:

Keep Australia Beautiful

I used a page from realestate.com.au as pp on my layout, (a free realestate magazine). The page represents the home which generates tons and tons of household rubbish each year.
This is Jenna my daughter in 1998, she is dressed up as the "Rev" girl for a calistenics act she did with her group called "Don't Drop it". Jenna was nine years old (she is now twenty!)

Hope you like my take!

and close ups of course.......

Taking it to the Streets

Recycling should now a big part of our everyday lives, we love our planet, so we should look after it!
I added the little comic sketch - the world dressed in a T shirt that says "I'm with stupid", of course stupid is MANKIND. So appropriate I thought.

I have used recycles cardboard, mags, ties etc..

and close ups.....

Hope you like!

Mum’s Super Hero

This is my layout for the March Photoswap at Ready, Set, Scrap with Amanda.

"Mum's Super Hero"

I hand cut all the pieces for the super hero suit from coloured cardstock, and outlined the suit with black pen. I added Connor's head and made it like a "Poppet". The high rise buildings are cut from black and white card stock to give the layout dimension and to make it look as if Connor is flying!

I hope you like this Amanda :)

Book Worm

This is my scraplift of a layout that Tracey Hunter from Ready, Set, Scrap did back in December 2008.

Scraplifts are an awesome way of jump starting your mojo or trying out a technique or style you may not have attempted before.

A scraplift can be an entire lift of the LO or you may just be inspired to use the colour combo, sketch, style, same PP's, title or whatever grabs your fancy!......LOL

I added a title and a different book quote which says "You cannot open a book without learning something - Confucius"

Thanks Tracey for the inspiration.

You can see Traceys original layout at the link below.

I Believe I can Fly

This is my layout for Erika Martins Journaling 101 course, week #8, Using Lyrics as your Journaling.

The lady holding the bird is hand cut from Grace Taylor pp item #1316

When my husband and I seperated in 2000, it was a very lonely time.. I was living with my teenage son who was hardly ever home, I was sad, depressed and.........
Close friends never called, I hated that time in my life.
Then I met Hasan, things changed. My feelings and thoughts took on a much happier tone.
Hasan made me believe in myself.
These song lyrics explain exactly how I felt at the lowest point in my life and also the highest.

I believe I can Fly by R Kelly

I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me, oh

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

*** Thanks Hasan, you saved me and taught me to believe in myself ***

Watering Can

This is my example for the March OTP Challenge set by Lexie at Ready, Set, Scrap.

March OTP Challenge - set by Lexie King

For this month's OTP challenge I would like you to
take one house hold object, it can be anything, chair, toaster, saucepan, lamp etc
and transform it into a work of art

You must use

paint

minimum of 13 flowers

and beads

you may add anything else you want to create you work of art

Here's Lexie's example:

Here is my example:

I used my indoor metal watering can and gave it a face lift :)
I painted the raised leaves with Jo Sonya's Green Light and added 13 pink flowers ( six on each side and the largest attached to the end of the spout). The larger flowers have seed beads glued to their centres. The smaller flowers have rhinestones as centres. I added two butterfly's on each side.

This was a great challenge! Thanks Lexie.

Here are some close ups!
