Your'e the coolest

This is my submission for the July/August challenge at "ARTastic" challenge blog. You had to take your inspiration from Andy Warhols commercial art. As per pic below:

and here is my submission:

My layout is titled "You're the coolest", I was inspired by the bright, funky colors and knew this would be the perfect project to use my "Lime Rickey" collection pack from Basic Grey. I matted the photo, and out lined it with small square blocks taking in to account the grids of bright colors.

and here are some close ups:

ARTastic Challenge Blog

The July Artist is Andy Warhol and the inspiration for your layouts will come from this sample of his commercial art.

Lisa is going to kick us off with her layout titled "That Curl" She says I was inspired by the grid of colours and created my own version on the layout behind the photo using scraps of patterned paper.I also matted the photo in black, picking up on the narrow black gridlines between the blocks of colours.

Prize for the month of July is swatch book of princess rubons perfect for girls pages!

Something for you from owl of us!

This is the card my stamp group made on Wednesday night, using Stampin'UP! products.

We had a blast, it was a great night.......... now I will have to put my thinking cap on for next months card tutorial lol

I used:

close to cocoa card stock
whisper white A4 card stock
"owl together now" stamp set
1 1/4" punch (for windows)
chocolate chip ink pad
basic black ink pad

.....still need to get Stampin' UP! markers
(The markers I used to color in the owls were cheap and crappy!)

We also made a black and white layout using Stampin' UP! product as well, but mine is still unfinished, so will post it later :)

I was only asked today, I am stoked.....so go take a peek!!

************************************************************

I would like to thank Allison for asking me to take over the running of her site.

I remember the first time I saw her challenge blog, I was that excited that someone had thought of the idea to use ART as inspiration for layouts....... then I applied for her DT and was accepted and now I will be running it, so awesome!

Here's what Allison posted today:

Excuse us While we Change LOL

There will be a minor change to the running of the Blog. Unfortunately I am going to step down from the running and Shazza is going to step in and make sure that ARTastic is kept up to date and running smoothly. I know Shazza will do a wonderful job and that you will all welcome her :) The email for submissions has been updated on the Blog page for those of you that have layouts to send in for July.

A big hug and thankyou from me !!!! Thanks everyone for all your kindness and support!

You, my Online Friend are a blessing!

This is my Shazza ATC - all about me! for the July swap at Uproar 2 Scrapmore.

Well Amanda-star came up with a lovely idea for this months ATC and I thought it was a great idea too and hope you will ALL do this one...
You put a pic of yourself decorated on the front and your details on the back .... email, postal addy, blog etc. You have them so that they can all be bound on a large jump ring and that way everyone has everyone elses contact details ..... that way if Uproar ever does go ... heaven forbid ..... we will all know exactly how to get in touch with one another. So please put a large eyelet in the left hand corner of each atc or at least leave room for one to be placed and make one for everyone on the list.
From ChrisW

and here are the twelve I made:

Below is the information I put on the back of the card,
I wish there had of been more room.... lol

2 buttons somewhere on your page
A patterned paper background
Some fibres/ribbon/stitches

(from patterned paper or using one of those fancy machines you paper scrappers have!)

************************************************

This is my layout called "Face Painting"

I took my inspiration from the Green Haze drink by AM.
